Official information vs background articles

Where it is: Knowledge → Entries — the role badge on each item.

A knowledge base usually holds two very different kinds of content: pages that state what your business does, and articles that explain a topic in general. Treating them the same is how a chatbot ends up inventing services.

How it works

  • Pages, products and Q&A pairs are official information. The bot may state services, prices and policies from them.
  • Blog posts and bloggy crawled URLs are background articles. The bot may explain their content, but may never turn them into a claim about your business.

Changing the role of an item

In the entries list, each item has a role you can flip. Do that when a blog post is really a service page, or when a page is genuinely just an article.

This came out of a real incident: asked whether the business worked with agencies, a bot answered yes and described a partnership model — all of it paraphrased from an educational blog post. Nothing like it was ever offered.

Still stuck? Ask the assistant in the corner of this page — it has read all of this — or send us a message.
