Where it is: Knowledge → Add & Sources → Add Knowledge → Text.
Much of what customers ask about is nowhere on the website: the delivery radius, what happens if they cancel, the thing you explain in every second email. Paste it here and it becomes knowledge like any other source.
Do this
- Give it a title. It is what you will see in the entries list later — “Delivery and cancellation”, not “notes”.
- Paste the text. Headings and lists survive; it does not have to be tidy.
- Choose a chunking strategy, or leave it on Auto-detect.
- Click Preview to see exactly how it will be split, then Process & Train.
What each field does
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Document title | The name of this source in the entries list and on the reset screen. |
| Content to train | The text itself. It is cleaned and split into sections; the bot retrieves the relevant section, not the whole document. |
| Chunking strategy | Auto-detect recognises FAQs, lists and prose and chooses for you. Small (150–250 words) suits question-and-answer text, Medium (300–500) general content, Large (500–700) long explanatory articles. |
| Preview | Shows the chunks before anything is saved or embedded. Worth a look the first time — it is the clearest picture you will get of how the bot reads your content. |
For a fact shaped like a question — “do you deliver to Rotterdam?” — a Q&A pair is more reliable than pasted prose. Use text for background and explanation, Q&A for answers.
Pasted text is a manual entry: no sync overwrites it, nothing regenerates it, and only the “manual entries and Q&A” reset scope removes it.
