Where it is: the log is on System Health, reached from the Dashboard.
When someone tells you the bot said “something went wrong” yesterday, you need to be able to look at yesterday. The plugin keeps its own log of failures where you can read them, instead of only writing to the PHP error log that needs server access to reach.
Recent errors
- Newest first, the last thirty shown, each with the time, the area it came from — chat, embedding, stream, sync, crawl, whatsapp, notify — and the message.
- An empty panel is the normal state, and it says so.
- Entries can quote your provider’s own error text, so share them with support rather than in public.
The alert that comes to you
A failing AI provider is invisible from the outside: visitors get a polite fallback and simply leave. So when the provider errors, the plugin emails the owner — the handoff notification address if you set one, otherwise the site administrator — naming the provider and the error, at most once every six hours.
The usual causes are an expired or revoked API key, or exhausted credits at the provider. Both are fixed under Settings → General & AI in about a minute.
