The plugin does not resell AI. You bring a key from a provider you have an account with, and that provider bills you at their normal rates.
Supported providers
- OpenAI — the widest model range, easiest to start with.
- Anthropic Claude — strong at following instructions carefully.
- Google Gemini — competitive pricing on the fast models.
- DeepSeek — the cheapest per token of the group.
- Grok (xAI).
- OpenRouter — one key, many models, useful if you want to try several.
Getting a key
- Create an account with the provider and add a payment method or some credit.
- Create an API key in their dashboard.
- Paste it into Settings → General & AI and press Test connection.
Keys are stored write-only: once saved, the field shows a placeholder and the key is never sent back to a browser. To replace one, type the new key over it. To remove one, use Clear.
Failover
If you configure a second provider you can switch on automatic failover. When the primary errors — an outage, a rate limit, an expired key — the answer is retried on the other provider, and the switch is logged on the Dashboard. Visitors see nothing.
