What each setting does
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Position on screen | Bottom right, bottom left or bottom centre. | Bottom right |
| Button style | A round bubble, or a pill bar with your own text on it. | Round bubble |
| Button shape | Circle or rounded square. Applies to the bubble; the pill keeps its own shape. | Circle |
| Button icon | The built-in chat bubble, an icon from the library, one emoji of your own, an image, or none at all for a text-only pill. | Chat bubble |
| Button size | Diameter of the round launcher, 44–80 px. The pill sizes itself from its text. | 56 px |
| Mobile settings | Auto-hide the button while the visitor scrolls, and open the chat full-screen on phones. | Both on |
| Animation | How the window opens — slide up, fade or bounce — plus an optional launcher pulse after a number of seconds of page inactivity (5–120). | Slide up; pulse after 30 s |
| Chat window size | Width 300–500 px and height 400–700 px, on desktop. | 360 × 500 px |
| Z-index | How far in front of the rest of your page the widget sits. | 99999 |
Notes
- On phones the chat always uses the full width, whatever the desktop width says.
- If a sticky header, cookie bar or popup covers the launcher, raise the z-index. That is the setting for it, and this is the tab it is on.
- Visitors whose system asks for reduced motion get no animation, whatever is chosen here.
